Event Description

AUTUMN BEYOND THE DYKE - A BEACON RCC AUDAX - 6TH OCTOBER 2018

206km cycling event starting from Belbroughton, Worcestershire. Open controls at CRAVEN ARMS, PRESTEIGNE and TENBURY , plus 3 information controls.

Beyond the Dyke is a foray from Worcestershire through Herefordshire and Shropshire to beyond Offa's Dyke and back again.

A splendid route passing through rural Worcestershire, Shropshire and into Radnorshire, using mainly quiet B roads and lanes. The countryside is varied from the deep valleys of mid-Wales to The Marches and the tranquil Teme Valley. Riders will be furnished with a cafe guide for that all important coffee and cake moment. Food will be available for riders at the start and finish of the ride.

For participants displaced by the non-running of Velo Birmingham in 2018. this will provide a great opportunity for those you raising money for charitable causes.  At 200km or 130 miles, you'll have plenty of scope for seeking sympathetic sponsors.

Audaxes are unpretentious events aimed at long distance cyclist and are governed under the rules of Audax UK.  They are not-for-profit events, riders are unsupported but they must pass control points which are usually locations where food and services can be bought.
