BMX World Championships

The 2012 UCI BMX World Championships are coming to Birmingham this May in what is the biggest annual prize in BMX racing, with the world’s best riders chasing the right to wear the coveted rainbow stripes for the following 12 months. As an Olympic sport in an Olympic year, the event takes on extra significance as it is the last event in which nations can secure valuable qualification points as they strive to earn their place at the London Olympic Games in what promises to be the most spectacular World Championships ever.

Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena will play host to the world’s best BMX talent from May 24^th-27^th, featuring over 2,000 riders from across the globe, including Olympic GB hopefuls Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips who will be gunning for world titles in their last major outing before the London 2012 Olympics.
