Cycling in and around Birmingham England
I'm looking to replace my bike between now and the end of June.
I want to ensure that I make the right choice of bike this time, having made poor choices previously by buying online.
does anyone know if there any bike stores in Birmingham that allow you to try before you buy??
Ultimately I would like to try it for an hour or so before making a decision
I have been looking at
the following bikes:
http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/Detaig/12live/live/Live%20...
&
http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/Detaig/12work/work/Work%20...
so if anyone has either of the above bikes and wouldn't mind me taking a look and having a go.... I would be so so so grateful
thanks for reading

I've been on a bit of a trek today & tested a couple of bikes
Bike Pro in Kings Heath. very helpful indeed allowed me to have a test ride for exchange of a credit card & car keys . They did a safety check on it before letting me take it out. I was very up front & said that I was not buying today & wanted to take my time finding the right bike.
I tested a Dawes Graduate/Duchess (Yes a granny bike!) took it out on the high street & up to the park.
They also offered me a part exchange on my old bike.
test ride arranged for 1 o'clock at specialized fort dunlop. I arrived at 12.50 to be told by the assistant that they did not have time to get it from stores, "COME BACK in a 2 hours!!!!" this was overheard by the manager, who promptly stepped in & offered my tea & sent the assist to get the bike. this took 30 mins.
I tested the Globe Daily 2 ... but no safety check meant very poor brakes & an untrue front wheel + the bike is not worth the £500 - £600 price tag, very cheap flimsy components!
On your bike! were also incredibly helpful & spent a good 40 mins going through options & pro's & cons etc... I have arranged a test ride with them on Saturday morning!
their after sales servicing plan seems good also.
although I have by no means made my mind up..... one thing for sure is that I will be buying locally , when I'm ready........
