I recently found out in conversation with a police officer that the magic words to use are "complaint under section 59 of the police reform act" http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2002/30/section/59

 

Show an officer the video and make a complaint. The lady will get a visit and the car is logged, leading to it showing up in ANPR scans etc.

Thanks to a very good copper in Walsall Police who saw this, the driver has been shown the footage and had a talking to. That'll do me; with everything else going on I didn't want to trouble the fuzz with it, but that was duty above and beyond.

There's a filter lane like this near Five Ways.  I keep looking over my shoulder as I approach it and cycle a lot further from the kerb than I normally do.

I was looking behind me, it's not a helmet cam, it's mounted to the head tube, so you don't see my movements. She came out of nowhere, to be honest. I should have been further out, but there was nowt on my right and I reckon she'd still have done it.

 

I just don't understand what they think they gain by it. It's mental.

Hat tip to the rousers though, I'd never have expected that.

Must be the season. On Thursday, a very sweary fellow in a van overtook me on the right while I was signalling to turn right onto a side street. I heard him accelerate, and waited to turn. Had I not, I'd be dead now. He thanked me by tooting his horn and shouting something blue.

I think certain spots are worse for some reason - I changed my regular route from Highgate to Kings Heath because the same thing happened to me regularly where there is a turn onto the ring road above the mosque. And yes, I was also regularly "thanked" in the same way as David.

I think bad road design sometimes encourages it - like when two lanes merge to one after a junction it makes the idiots race you.

completely agree with all being said my daily commute from home to Birmingham is fraught with idiots im sick of having to shout at knob head car drivers
