It may feel like a drop of 10C is significant but when you remember that the scale goes all the way down to -273.15C, 10 degrees is neither here nor there.

AIUI, there's likely to be less interference from medium-wave radio signals in the winter, on account of the changes in the ionosphere.
But it might just be random acts of our-favourite-telco.
Here in Silly Oak, I notice a measurable improvement in ADSL performance (that is, the raw parameters of the physical connection between modem and exchange, rather than anything related to contention) outside of term time, when 90% of the houses are unoccupied and associated sources of interference are switched off. The wifi spectrum becomes a lot less congested, too :)
8 C to -2 C is a 3.6% temperature reduction.
