Cycling in and around Birmingham England

I 'm getting the train to Droitwich tomorrow.

I know there is a 'fast' train from New Street but the 'slow' train times are very similar to those from Moor Street.  Does anybody know if it's the same train that stops at both stations?

No link between New Street and Moor Street. They are completely different trains.

Don't know where you have the times from, but if you look at the travel details on some of your trains, the first step may say:

"Walk from Moor Street Station to New Street Station".

Thanks - does anybody know if there would be any problems if I travellled out form New St and returned to Moor Street on the same return ticket?

If there isn't I'll get the first train home to either station.

Shouldn't be a problem at all. Ticket will probably say from "Birmingham Stations" to "Droitwich Spa". Both lines are run by London Midland so there should be no issue there either.

I travel on that line to Worcester and use both New St and Moor St. However, the New Street trains (B'ham to Hereford) are loads quicker than the ones from Moor Street which go via Kidderminster and stop at every blade of grass between there and Birmingham. I've stopped using that service as a result and just wait for the next fast train - I actually get home quicker, especially if I live South of the city because the fast train also stops at University. I ride to University and pick up the train there. Bikes allowed on any service but can be a scrum at rush hour.

Thanks for that - I'll use New Street then.  I'm going down to Droitwich to view a bike, if it's as described then expect some pictures shortly!
