Sutton Town Centre - NCN 534

Folks,The section of Sustrans/BCC Connect2 walking and cycling route in Sutton Coldfield town centre between Ebrook Road (Adjacent to Plantsbrook School) and Sutton Park (Wyndley Gate) and also known as NCN 534 is now essentially complete. There are a few snagging issues to deal with that Sustrans and BCC know about and additionally I have some points that need addressing which will help users better navigate the route. Before I communicate these to BCC it would be really helpful if others,…Continue

Hi, Bike North Birmingham is a wonderful project. We hope to set up something similar in south Birmingham. We're through to the finals of People's Millions to win £50,000 to get started. We need votes on 26th November. If you can vote and share the group, Cycle South Brum - www.cyclesouthbrum.co.uk that would be amazing.

Thank you.

North Birmingham is doing well, a significant increase in cyclists and joggers. Counted 9 cyclists on a 2 minute walk to the gym. Credit to Bike North Birmingham and the 2 community cycling/physical active groups/clubs it has helped to establish.

Also there is a new Cycle Service Centre on Stonehouse Road part of the Sutton Runner shop (corner of Jockey Road & Stonehouse Road). Popped in yesterday to have a look, staffed by qualified mechanics and keen cyclists.

Hi. I work on the communites theme of Bike North Birmingham - Bike Everyone. Our aim is to help "maybe" cyclists take up cycling and take part in some regular recreational cycling. We have a community Dr Bike and a couple of beginners rides comming up next week.

Dr Bikes - Tuesday 7th February 1000 - 1200 at Erdinton Leisure Centre, Mason Rd and 1330 - 1530 at Clifton Rd Youth Centre, Sutton Coldfield. A drop in Dr Bike, bring your bike along for a free safety check, minor adjustments and repairs and advise on bigger repairs or any aspect of cycling.

Free led rides for over 16's. Wednesday 8th of February at 1000am from Wyndley Lesuire Centre. A gentle paced group ride of around 6 miles in Sutton Park with a cafe stop and free refreshments. Friday 10th February at 1000am from Erdington Lesuire Centre, Mason Rd. A gentle paced group ride of around 5 miles to Pype Hayes Golf Course and back with a cafe stop and free refreshments.

To find out more about Bike Everyone or to register a place on a ride please call Tim Whiteside on 0121 464 1020. If you are an experienced cyclists these rides may not be for you but please let any "maybe" cyclists you know about them.

Hi to all from a member of the Sustrans section Bike North Bham Team. I work in schools with my colleague Rachel Vann, so please let us know if you have any questions, or are aware of anything happening in the schools in the area we should know about.

Not a splinter group, no. Just a place to root for those with an interest in the north east corner of the city and specifically the changes that I hope will happen as a result of the BNB project. Only time will tell whether it is useful.

In due course BCC will have its own lines of communication regarding BNB. The community will need its own lines, this can potentially be one of them.

Cheers

Andy

What a good idea. South Birmingham - Moseley and Kings Heath do dominate the main site . Is this a splinter group ?
