Excellent wasn't expecting this!

The top photo is more recent. The cones have now gone but I'm not sure if its finished. A kerb or wands might be needed to prevent impatient drivers overtaking in it.

That does look good. I agree with you, LS, that it does look just the right width for a driver to treat it as a second lane unless it is physically segregated from motor traffic going the other way.

Mini roundabout at car park entrance end is a little difficult to get around especially with the speed from John Lewis direction and the numbers u-turning from China Town. Problem with putting something up between the lane and the cars is the accesses to under storey parking on the right hand side as you look on the second picture (you can see a car coming out in the first picture).

The best thing about cycle lanes is that they are a great place to park!  Well done Burke Bros - would be interested to see their Risk Assessment and subsequent dynamic one when they arrived to find the road layout was different to that expected!!!!!!!!!!

The name on the truck speaks volumes.   It is illegal both to drive across the solid white line and to park on the double-yellow line.   The police, in the form of our friend PC Hodson, have at long last started addressing illegal parking in Brum.
