Hurst Street KEEP LEFT Please

Hello cyclists of Birmingham Just a safety post here for anyone who cycles Northbound along Hurst Street. I would strongly advise cyclists to KEEP LEFT of this barrier. It appears to be part (of the really rubbish) contraflow cycle lane.On Monday morning witnessed this cyclist on the wrong side who nearly got hit by an oncoming car. The corner here is a blind corner so motorists can't see bikers coming up the middle of the road. I've also had some close calls pulling out here with cyclists…See More

Hill Street Traffic Light Problems

If anyone cycles up Hill Street in the morning many of you may be noticing the temporary signals installed often keep failing, and they become stuck on the red signal. They were installed on the 9th October 2017, and in the space of a month they have broken 4 times (and that's ONLY when I have been there. Its possible they have failed during times I don't go through there!).VIDEO LINKS: 1st time: …See More

Road Closure In City Centre Winter 2017

To update all cyclists very unfortunate to say more roads will be closing in the city centre from the 16th of December when Christmas Market open till 24th December. Currently Hill Street and other primary routes have been closed thanks to the Metro Tram Extension. With the current metro banning cyclists, and to add insult to misery the last remaining routes such as Lower Temple Street, and Bennet Hill have received safety barriers to CLOSE the road with heavy metal gates and concrete barriers…See More

Pride Parade & Birmingham Council don't care about cyclists??

So coming home last night cycling down Hurst Street, which is the safest bike route in Birmingham, normally takes me 15 minutes to get home. Come down to find out this dumb parade set up & Birmingham Council thought it was completely fine to block the bike lane, and let cyclist find alternative routes that are very dangerous, and long! No signs to alert cyclist route was closed, and many people cycling were very confused on which way to go.

This is very wrong of both this Parade,…
