So today cycling home on the A38. Glad to see the new Cycle Shared Crossing is now built and on. HOWEVER, if this crossing is cycle shared, does that make the footpath here cycle shared. On the other…Continue

"If they manage to string it out for as long as possible it might never happen. There could be a change of council leadership in May 2018 because of the bin strike. With Robert Alden as council leader the A38 scheme would be scrapped and any future…"

A38 Cycle Highway still on??? And new cycle shared crossing?

So today cycling home on the A38. Glad to see the new Cycle Shared Crossing is now built and on. HOWEVER, if this crossing is cycle shared, does that make the footpath here cycle shared. On the other side of the junction is a shared cycle path but at the pedestrian crossing for the cross road are signs saying "cyclists dismount". If you can't cycle across the cross road pedestrian crossing I don't see much point in this cycle shared crossing. One option is to use lane 1, pull into the side of…See More

ARKrider replied to David's discussion Julie's petition for Hagley Road cycle lanes
"Hagley road is like 6 lanes wide for a good odd mile at least. Then it narrows to 2 each way. Easily could fit in a shared cycle path on the narrower bit then a proper cycle lane into Broad Street would be nice I think!"

Pride Parade & Birmingham Council don't care about cyclists??

So coming home last night cycling down Hurst Street, which is the safest bike route in Birmingham, normally takes me 15 minutes to get home. Come down to find out this dumb parade set up & Birmingham Council thought it was completely fine to block the bike lane, and let cyclist find alternative routes that are very dangerous, and long! No signs to alert cyclist route was closed, and many people cycling were very confused on which way to go.

This is very wrong of both this Parade,…
