Cambridge Street hazard to cyclists; reported to Birmingham City Council in March; still not fixed

In Cambridge Street, at the rear of Baskerville house, the surface around a hydrant cover has worn away, leaving an exposed metal "step" which is hazardous to cyclists. I reported this to Birmingham…Continue

Old 'Cycling in Birmingham' booklet

I picked up a bit of Brum ephemera at the cyclists' jumble sale on Saturday, a booklet called "Cycling in Birmingham". It's is a curious mixture of adverts for bike shops, an A-Z style cycling route…Continue

There used to be an MOT tester in Balsall Heath known as 'Tommy' because he'd have to have been deaf, dumb and blind to pass some of the cars that he did.  Perhaps he's still in business?

Who's to say those plates were on the cab when it had its MoT or was inspected by BCC?
Sep 13, 2011
Andy Mabbett replied to Simon's discussion 'Reportingcycle path faults'
BCC withdrew (against my advice, when I worked there) the parks@ email address, and auto-respond telling people to use their website.   If, like me, you prefer to use e-mail, for its convenience, to have a record of what you sent, to attach a…

The MoT tester must also be in the cabbies 'pocket' - as this is a fail. And aren't black cabs licensed and inspected by BCC as well? I don't know about funding cycle lanes, just funnel the FPN money into fixing the sodding…

I assume you meant the back?  People must know that number plates like this are illegal but the police rarely do anything about them.   They could issue FPNs and use the money to fund more cycle lanes!
