Stolen Bike

I've just seen this on Gumtree.  The owner thinks the bike may be sold on in the Birmingham area for some reason.  There isn't a contact number on the add so presumably you reply through Gumtree.…Continue

This is only a CGI - if it had been built sombody would find that the pedals would catch on the footboards.

According to Urban Dictionary a 'biatchi' is a retarded bitch.  Either this is an unfortunately named Chinese copy or somebody is having a laugh.

I wonder if it was a post-graduate project?  Marks are awarded for originality and not necessarily practicality.

There isn't a charge 'between' dangerous driving and causing death by dangerous driving.   Either there should be or the maximum penalty for dangerous driving should be increased.

I've just seen this on a motoring forum.  Two posters thought the cyclist was to blame as well, another wanted him charged! http://www.car4play.com/forum/post/index.htm?f=2&t=9639

I think it's some sort of legal work-around so that towpaths can never become a public right of way.

RE: Why ride a bicycle in busy city traffic?   I'm sure there are almost as many reasons as there are cyclists.  The one who do it just for an adrenalin buzz are pretty silly.

I find the easiest way to trace an innertube leak is to rotate it a few millimeters from your upper lip - you can feel where the air escaping.  The tube isn't wet either so you can put the patch…

RE: "I get just before the horse shoe pub on the Alcester road "   Halfords at Maypole is a 5-10 minute walk from here.  It's worth knowing if you get caught without a puncture repair kit again.

Only if they do stupid things like cycling on roads with 60mph+ traffic and going through tunnels with filter lanes at either end.

CKS replied to Philip Eddington's discussion 'Ghost bikes similar to those in London'
I didn't know that.  Anyway, it does something to prevent a similar accident and gives an indication of its cause, unlike a ghost bike.

CKS replied to Philip Eddington's discussion 'Ghost bikes similar to those in London'
I think ghost bikes are divisive, they imply that the death of a cyclist is somehow more notable than the death of any other road user.   Anyway, in Birmingham the local scrap men would just steal them.

According to this link 22.2 cyclists are killed per billion kilometers (in 2010), not 3.2. http://road.cc/content/news/38100-ctc-says-rate-deaths-among-cyclists-not-falling-quickly-enough-dft-releases   That would make cycling about seven times…

Most cycling forums are full of sycophants who spend all the time agreeing with each other.  I welcome James' different opinions even though I don't usually agree with them.

A lot of the people in Sparkbrook are Somalis who arrived in the UK via the Netherlands.  They probably got their cycling confidence there.

Not me, but I saw a couple cycling around Balsall Heath yesterday - looking rather lost. I also saw somebody on an orange fixie in Kings Heath this afternoon.
