Darren Cash replied to Iain's discussion Commuting under Spaghetti Junction - Is it safe?
"Used canals under spaghetti quite often without any problems (as does my wife)  but it does get a bit tiring and the surface isn't great. (Especially Spaghetti to Pype Hayes). You will need alternative route if it's been raining -…"

Darren Cash replied to John KIRK's discussion Driver kills cyclist on A38 near Burton ...... but spared jail
"When we read about events like this we rarely have all the details to make a considered judgement. News articles rarely  provide any real information. Assuming the driver was not speeding, or driving recklessly then this would, in my opinion,…"

Darren Cash replied to Kim's discussion Forumite Spotting
"How about we all tie a daffodil to the front of our bikes next week? We should easily spot forum members then. Would be Interesting to know how man other cyclists out there are or are not members. Of course that could just be my compulsive counting…"

Darren Cash replied to Rich22222's discussion North Birmingham Route Help?

Darren Cash replied to Rich22222's discussion North Birmingham Route Help?

Darren Cash replied to Rich22222's discussion North Birmingham Route Help?
"When heading into Birmingham I recommend not using the signed route on the Birmingham & Aston Canal and take the Parallel Birmingham & Warwick Junction Canal which joins the Grand Union near Digbeth. No bridges, about two locks and only one…"

Darren Cash replied to John KIRK's discussion Stressful "school run" worse than work ?
"Or there is always the coach (£53 from a quick check). Usually takes a little longer, but I tend to find it less stressful, e.g. you get a seat and somewhere to put the luggage (even a bike if it's a folder)."

Darren Cash replied to LS's discussion Selly Oak New Road
"A mandatory cycle lane is the only option that is going to suit cycling as a regular form of travel. As has already been said by many others, constant stop start journeys, up and down on to footpaths is not fun.   Local authorities across the…"
