I've got a Peugeot hybrid bike whose derailleur mech has seen better days. Totally knackered in fact, as is the front mech. All else is good. I'm enjoying my loaner single speed so much I'm going to…Continue

I guess it would depend on if he broke the bus driver's leg, risked killing him and flattened his vehicle - or not.

No, you still need one: http://www.waterscape.com/things-to-do/cycling/permit I've never been asked to show it either but I also sent them an arsey email saying I wasn't going to print it out until they provided a regular black print on…

1.   I personally don't ride the towpaths in the pitch dark. Apart from not thinking that my several lights are bright enough to show the holes and lumps in the path surface I think there are some safety issues should I fall in! 2.  …

Years ago I had a rather naff electric horn on my bike. It was far too quiet for traffic use but made pedestrians nearly jump out of their skins. After a while it'd stopped working properly anyway. From then on, the only thing it was really…

You can see where the car tyres leave a track on the tarmac. I tend to ride in the nearside track, not a metre out, nor in the gutter. I'm sure what you say is true, James, but it's the horn tooters, the ones who sit behind revving their…

The Pashley's a tad under 21kg. Crazy eh? (I have a Trek on loan that I hardly ever ride that's less than half that weight!) I'm thinking I'll sell it this spring and replace it with something similar but lighter.... I like the…

I've suggested to my boss that we fit them to our biggest trucks -  7.5 tonners.... My truck has the 3 NS mirrors already but I agree there are considerable blind spots.

I am certain it all comes down to selfishness. My journey is more important than yours, my time more valuable, my pleasure higher priority than yours. Everyone else should move out of the way and let me through unimpeded. I don't see why the…

Looks a bit like the school along Belcher's Lane to me but I've only ever driven past it so I could easily be wrong. Don't tell the Missus I said that though. She still thinks I'm perfect! ;0)

Cheers Jon - it's been very useful already! I've learnt a lot about the dangers of the door zone that I'd never considered before. I'm needing to find a route from KH to Harborne that avoids Raddlebarn Road cos every week something happens there that gives me the willies.
