Shivaji Shiva replied to Natasha Sweet's discussion Edgbaston tunnel is in the dark
"I rode through today, and the lighting level was about right for me.  I like the way the lights are set to point at the bricks on the tow-path side rather than illuminating the water indiscriminately."

"The lighting needs to be adjusted so that it is bright enough that you can see where you are going after entering the tunnel on a sunny day, but not so bright that at night you're blinded in the tunnel and then can't see anything once you…"

"just been through; workmen chugging away on their barge. New lights installed and all working. It's a bit bright-white for my taste, but definitely a lot better. All we need to do now is persuade BCC to illuminate the rest of the towpaths…"

"I would suggest Tahir Ali, but you will need to be persistent. BCC are "looking for" funding to sort out the lights in the tunnel, but IMHO there are higher priorities for lighting.   Curzon Street tunnel has big portals to let…"

About me
I started cycling to work in March 2012. Much better than the train - literally a breath of fresh air! I tend to use the Worcester & Birmingham Canal towpath a lot.
