Ryan Stait replied to Dave Cox's discussion City Centre Road Improvements good for buses but neglect cycling and walking
"Not sure the off-road facility. i.e. Harborne Walkway is the solution. It's there already and I never use it for commuting even though it's 1 minute from my front-door. It takes about 20 minutes longer into town.  Lovely for…"

ARKrider replied to Ryan Stait's discussion Broad Street trams
"Baring in mind these are all shared with motor vehicles. As far as I am aware only permitted motor vehicles are allowed up Navigation street. Apart from that, there is nothing that would run you over if you fell/slipped on the tram tracks. BUT its…"

Dave Holladay replied to Ryan Stait's discussion Broad Street trams
"1) Trams should be running in middle of road (as the old ones used to do) as far as possible on reserved track. If caught earlu enough at the design stage, a case might be made to install vignole section BR113A rail at points where other road…"

ARKrider replied to Ryan Stait's discussion Broad Street trams
"Collecting evidence from the website, current road layout, and the original set up of the bicycle banning on the extension between Snowhill and New Street, its very safe to assume cycling will be banned on both Hill Street and also on Broad Street I…"

Broad Street trams

I don't want to get into a debate about the riskiness of cycling over tramlines but can somebody advise what the layout will be when the trams head up to Five Ways?I'm sure I remember reading that cars won't be allowed down Broad Street so I presume it will be one tram lane and one bus lane. Can anybody confirm?See More
