Just been announced that Andy Burnham has appointed Chris Boardman as Cycling/Walking Commissioner for Manchester.So do we really expect the same here with Andy Street for an area far bigger in size ?Continue

"When Manchester and Glasgow hosted the games they both built velodromes. If Birmingham isn't prepared to do the same they should exclude cycling rather than hold it 100 miles away. Perhaps they can host a Superprix instead."

"well I paid for fastback not for the inconvience of saturday but because I want to be off early when roads are empty ... so a 7.05 start for me and means riding to the start with lights on, erggghhh oh BTW on my strava streams, FB etc never seen…"

No Velodrome for Brum

Well there was hope the winning of the Commonwealth games (as will happen) will see a new velodrome here but clearly as games so cheap will not happen.Sadly either Manc ir London will host the track but looking forward to see where the road and TT elements will be. Especially if the Velo does work and Nimby;s stop whining the route for it could be used as the road race and the Hagley road used as the TT with a u turn at the M5 motorway junction and back ! See More

"well the nimby's nearly won and it is unlikely we will have a second one so for everyone on Sunday enjoy this. I know the route well, going for under 6 hours in a unique event for us and the organisers have set it up well in the City centre.…"
