Cycling in and around Birmingham England
Hi, having taking part in the Warwick 100 earlier this year I am considering doing the London to Paris ride next year (I was ready for it this year as I've only just bought my new bike) for a children's charity. There's a fundraising target of £1400 but the registration fee is only £99.
I'm just wondering if any of you have done this ride before and if so how did you find the fundraising? I'm considering doing it with a couple of friends and having spoken to the charity it is apparent that the fundraising target is per person and therefore between us we need to raise £4200 in 11 months. Does this sound reasonable or are we pushing it a bit too much?
Any ideas on how we could go about raising the funds are also welcome.

We've raised almost £4000 online through www.justgiving.com and maybe another £500-800 in cash through sponsorship forms in seven or eight months. We mainly did this through social networking, emails, blogging our progress and then we had a BBQ fundraiser with a raffle at a local pub too. We continually pushed the ride to friends and family and local people. I would say though remember it's only a target and if you fall short of it, it's not the end of the world.
