Comment by BrownhillsBob on August 30, 2011 at 21:01 I could swear that the junction by the ICC/Malt House is Old Turn Junction, if not someone step in and correct me. If I'm wrong, my apologies.
If you watch in HD it does show the vibration as I come down the cobbly bits - haven't chopped any of that out. I'm riding a 700c drop bar bike with 28mm tyres, and I did get the teeth chatter a fair bit. Key is if you're riding this kind of towpath, let a little air go from the tyres, but not so much as to cause pinch flats.
I'm aware it's a cruising spot there, but in recent years that seems to have died out (at least in daylight) - greatest hazard these days is gangs of emo kids moping around drunk and blocking the path...
Thanks for the kind words
Bob

Comment by Jon Ingram on August 30, 2011 at 22:15 I obviously don't know where Aston Junction is! ;0)
Comment by BrownhillsBob on August 30, 2011 at 22:24 It's the one right near Dartmouth Circus in the shadow of Aston Expressway - straight on takes yo towards Digbeth, taking the turn I took goes to Salford Junction, under Spaghetti Junc.
I had to check, to be honest ;0)
Best wishes
Bob

Comment by Glen Hoff on September 22, 2011 at 15:19 Ahh, the delights of Snow Hill tunnel! The smell of warm oil and coal fumes from those Great Western steam engines. Only joking, the modern reality is the scent of poo and plenty of broken glass to avoid. There must be some seriously dodgy take away shops nearby. Do watch out for druggies needles and those ubiquitous condoms especially on a Monday morning. The amount of times I've been along here, you'd think that British Waterways would keep a regular eye on cleanliness as not just cyclists use this path but tourists aswell.
It would be great to see people who are locked up in jail getting out under supervision and given brooms to sweep up these towpaths. But then I'm asking too much here!
Regards,
Glen
